While tax season may not be everyone’s favorite time of the year (except for ours, of course) it is especially difficult for US expats living abroad. The tax system is not resident based which means citizens still have to pay taxes to Uncle Sam even while they live elsewhere. Over 26% said they are or are seriously considering renouncing their citizenship.
